Retinol (Vitamin A)
increases skin firmness, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improves skin tone, reduces age spots and refines skin texture. It has an exfoliating effect on the epidermis, eliminating dead cells, stimulating cell renewal and boosting radiance. Helps to fight free radicals (especially those induced by UV rays) and acts on the regulation of melanocytes—the cells that pigment the skin causing brown spots. It is also anti-inflammatory.
Retinol increases epidermal proliferation and stimulates the production of collagen, elastin and fibronectin. It increases the level of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and the number of Langerhans cells, and decreases the activity of collagenase and gelatinase (MMPs), helping to decrease collagen breakdown. By stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, the ‘structuring’ elements of the skin, retinol helps to improve firmness and elasticity, while boosting its hyaluronic acid content.

Lakesis ('Crystal Tears')
an active oil extracted from the resinous sap of the Pistacia tree shown to have a powerful effect on FOXO proteins. These anti-ageing, regulating protein factors are associated with cellular protection and longevity. They are crucial in maintaining skin homeostasis, healthy cell metabolism, DNA repair and opposing oxidative stress. FOXO proteins are also closely related to melanogenesis (the process by which the skin becomes pigmented).
Hydroxyphenyl Propamidobenzoic Acid
a patented compound inspired by the aventhramides present in oat extract. Known for their soothing properties, this compound helps to calm irritation.
Squalene
emollient that is present in human sebum. This makes it both skin-identical and a Natural Moisturising Factor. One of the most powerful moisturisers, giving skin a silky feel.
Tocopherol
also known as Vitamin E. A strong antioxidant with emollient properties that is easily absorbed by our skin to reduce oxidative stress caused by free radicals.
Rosehip Seed Oil
a nourishing oil with high omega fatty acid content specifically linolenic, linoleic and oleic acids. Has antioxidant and skin-regenerative properties due tocopherols (vitamin E) and carotenoids (pro-vitamin A).
