The XTherma handpiece with the face treatment tip attached

XTherma

In Korean clinics since 2022. Now at the Dr Sebagh Clinic in London.

South Korea has spent a decade rewriting what non-surgical skin treatment looks like. XTherma comes out of that: a monopolar radiofrequency device that sends controlled heat deep into the dermis while cryogen cooling protects the surface, shot after shot.

No needles. No incisions. No downtime.

Treatment FAQs

Is XTherma the same as 10THERMA?

Yes. The device is manufactured by Tentech in South Korea as 10THERMA and is known internationally as XTherma. They are the same machine.

Does it hurt?

You will feel heat during treatment, offset by cryogen cooling delivered around every shot. Numbing cream and local anaesthetic are both available if you would like them, and your practitioner adjusts the energy in response to how you find it.

If you know you are sensitive, Dr Sebagh suggests taking an over-the-counter painkiller such as paracetamol an hour before your appointment.

Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime. You can return to your day immediately after your appointment, which takes 40 minutes.

How is XTherma different from Thermage, and do you offer Thermage in London?

We do not offer Thermage at the Dr Sebagh clinic. We offer XTherma, which works on the same principle.

Both are monopolar radiofrequency: energy passes from a treatment tip, through the tissue, to a return pad, heating the dermis while the surface is cooled. Thermage is the longer established name in the UK. XTherma is a newer device from a different manufacturer, made by Tentech in South Korea, and it delivers cryogen cooling in seven pulses around every shot.

If you have been researching monopolar radiofrequency in London, XTherma is worth a conversation. Which treatment is appropriate for you is a matter for consultation.

How many treatments will I need?

Dr Sebagh recommends two sessions, spaced one to two months apart.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes. XTherma can be carried out on the same day as Botox or skin boosters. Other treatments within the Ageing-Maintenance programme are scheduled for separate days, and your practitioner will plan the sequence with you.

What is monopolar radiofrequency?

Radiofrequency is a form of electromagnetic energy. As it passes through tissue, it causes the water molecules within it to vibrate, generating heat inside the skin rather than applying it to the surface.

Monopolar describes how that energy travels: from the treatment tip, through the tissue, to a return pad placed on the body. Because the current takes a longer path, the heat reaches deeper layers than devices that pass energy between two closely spaced electrodes.

How much does XTherma cost?

Price is determined by the number of shots delivered, which depends on the area being treated. The eye area, at 300 shots, is £600. The neck, at 150 shots, is £600. Full face including brows is £1,200, and full face including brows and neck is £1,500.
