After administering a local anaesthetic, PDO threads are inserted into various layers of the skin via cannulas. The threads are lifted upwards and anchor the skin after which any excess thread is trimmed. Once inserted, the threads produce three effects in the skin:
Firstly, there is an instant skin lifting effect from the mechanics of the thread insertion as the threads provide support to lift skin in its new position.
Secondly, a K Thread Lift promotes cellular renewal through collagen stimulation and neovascularization (the body's natural process of forming new blood vessels). By increasing blood flow to the area, and promoting cellular renewal, the K Thread Lift improves skin texture, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and boosts skin elasticity.
Finally, by effecting a contraction of fat tissue, skin is tightened, lifted and taught.
