The Ultralift

The Ultrasound Revolution

Exclusive to the Dr Sebagh clinic, the Ultralift™ LP HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) machine harnesses the world’s first long-pulse ultrasound wave technology. This breakthrough treatment targets both muscle lifting and skin tightening, simultaneously.

Tightly and intensely focused, the UltraliftTM LP HIFU helps to lift the muscles in the face and neck, as a first step in defying the natural effects of gravity on muscle tone and skin firmness.

How does it work?

This new technology has facilitated targeting the superficial musculoskeletal aponeurotic system of the face (SMAS), a deeper muscular layer in the face, which is key to achieving a lifting effect in the facial area and the neck. The Dr Sebagh Ultralift™ LP HIFU machine provides the only treatment to specifically target this deep foundation below the skin. The ultrasound waves can target the muscle layer causing it to contract, strengthen and tighten. This achieves an immediate lift and, importantly, a gradual, progressive, long-lasting neck and face lift. The restorative effect is accumulative and will improve session on session.

HIFU machines achieve a skin tightening effect through stimulating neocollagenesis in the dermis. Pulses of ultrasound energy delivered deep under the skin cause older collagen fibres to denature, triggering the body’s injury response which promotes collagen synthesis.

The Dr Sebagh Ultralift™ LP HIFU machine achieves a more intense concentration of ultrasound energy, creating thermal coagulation points which trigger a more intense response, resulting in maximum collagen formation.

This new approach has definitely transformed the perspective regarding a possible non-surgical face and neck lift. This new technology has allowed us to deal with the musculoskeletal aponeurotic system of the face (SMAS) which is the key element in the facial lifting and also the brow lift, the submental laxity and neck tissue. At frequencies of 1-7 MHZ, ultrasound can be very tightly focused." Dr Jean-Louis Sebagh

The next generation Brow Lift

When it comes to Brow Lifting—which Dr Sebagh has been doing for years, with other clinics following suit—the state-of-the-art Ultralift™ LP HIFU technology takes what has become a hugely popular treatment to the next level.

What’s involved?

The exclusive Dr Sebagh Ultralift™ LP machine comes with different head attachments, with a variety of frequencies, to target different layers of the skin. Immediately after treatment, skin feels tighter, smoother, and more youthful. Optimal results are seen two to three weeks after treatment. There is absolutely zero downtime with this treatment and side effects are mild (slight redness for an hour or so following treatment).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Ultralift?

The Ultralift is a non-surgical face, neck and body treatment that uses ultrasound to actually lift and tone loose skin without any downtime.

What is unique about the Ultralift procedure?

The Ultralift is the only treatment that can specifically target the deep foundation below the skin that is addressed in cosmetic surgery without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. It is also the only procedure to use ultrasound.

What areas can be treated with Ultralift?

The Ultralift is perfect for tightening and lifting the skin on the neck, under the chin, the jawline, the brow, around the eyes, and treating wrinkling and sagging on the décolletage and body (areas of which that can be targeted include: chest, arms, armpits, abdomen, flanks, thighs and lower legs).

Is The Ultralift surgery?

No. The Ultralift addresses the skin and the support layer below it, but it doesn't entail cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin.

Can The Ultralift replace a face lift?

The Ultralift is not a "facelift." It is an uplift. While it is not a replacement for surgery, it is a viable option for those not ready for a facelift or those looking to maintain the effects of cosmetic surgery.

How is The Ultralift different from lasers and Radiofrequency (RF)?

Lasers and RF typically (Fraxel, Polaris, E2) address issues in the superficial layers of the skin (e.g. fine lines, wrinkles, pigment changes). The Ultralift addresses the deep skin layer and the foundational muscle layer addressed in cosmetic surgery that lift and lends support to the skin. Therefore, the three technologies are most compatible.

Is The Ultralift safe?

The procedure has been cleared by the U.S. FDA after demonstrating safety in clinical studies, and tens of thousands of treatments have been performed worldwide without any significant adverse events. In addition, ultrasound energy has a proven track record, with use in the field of medicine for more than 50 years, including pregnancy scans.

Who is a good candidate for The Ultralift?

A good candidate for The Ultralift is someone with skin that has "relaxed" to the point of looking, and often feeling, less firm. A lowered brow line or sagging skin on the eyelids, for instance, is often the first sign of "maturing" skin. While The Ultralift is not a replacement for surgery, there are many people who want some lifting but are not ready for surgery, either mentally, financially or logistically.

How long does the treatment take?

A full face-and-neck treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, and a partial face treatment can take around 30-minutes, neither with any downtime

How long until I see results of the The Ultralift treatment?

Patients may enjoy some initial effect but the ultimate lifting and toning will take place over 2-3 months, as tired collagen is renewed and replaced with new, stronger collagen.

Is there any downtime with The Ultralift treatment?

With Ultralift, there is no downtime. You are able to return to your normal activities right away, and there are no special measures you need to take. It also can be carried out at time of the year with no restrictions, with regard to sun exposure.

Will I feel the ultrasound during the treatment?

Yes. What you are feeling during the treatment is actually tiny amounts of concentrated ultrasound energy being deposited below the surface of the skin. Patients have noted there can be some discomfort while the energy is being delivered, but it is temporary and a positive signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated.

Is The Utralift painful?

We will be sure to consult with you prior to your treatment to make your experience as pleasant as possible. Some patients feel no discomfort at all, some more so. Patients typically leave comfortable and excited about the benefits to come.

Are there any side effects?

There may be slight redness for up to an hour or so following the treatment, and a small percentage of patients may have slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature. There is always the possibility for other less common post-procedural effects, which your practitioner will review with you.

What will my skin feel like after the procedure?

Immediately following an The Uplift procedure your skin should feel tighter, smoother and more youthful. Over time you may notice additional tightening. The most frequently reported incidents are as follows on or around the treated area as follows and all have resolved within a few days or weeks of treatment:

  • Swelling
  • Redness
  • Tingling of the skin
  • Tenderness
  • Bruising

How long before I can return to my normal activities?

Most people can return to their regular activities immediately following the The Ultralift procedure. You should avoid exposing your skin to extremes of heat and cold and protect your skin with a sun block cream. Your normal makeup regime can be followed immediately.
